At Charles Read we provide students with a fantastic range of extracurricular activities, to support growth inside and outside of the classroom.
A key part of this is that we encourage our students to be active and get involved in sporting competitions. Table tennis plays an important part of life here at Charles Read, as our main hall has a number of table-tennis tables that students can use in their free time. Football clubs dominate our after-school provision, and many students go on to represent local and regional teams.
We also pride ourselves at Charles Read on being a great place to develop well-rounded individuals. Science and music clubs/tuition allow young people to develop new interests. We also have a fantastic series of gardens and polytunnels that help our students build a passion and understanding for the world around them.
In short, whatever our students would like to do - we can help them achieve their potential. In recent years we have had people at Charles Read who have been fantastic at playing the banjo, brilliant skiers, brass band players, swimmers and martial arts enthusiasts. We have helped each and every one of these individuals develop their talents - and this is a commitment we will make to our students now and in the future.
