Double Delight for Aqua as they are Crowned 2021 House Champions

What an enthralling race for the House Championship. It was neck and neck all the way to the last competition where Aqua clinched the title by just 8 house points to deny Terra from retaining the title. Just 20 points separated all 3 house teams in the end with Terra finishing in 2^nd place followed by Caeli who finished 3^rd. Aqua accumulated a total of 3,538 points across the year compared to Terra with 3,530 points and Caeli with 3,518 – a real nail biting end to another action packed, fun filled year of house competitions and events.

Throughout the year top spot continuously changed with each house team in the lead at least once. Heading in to the final term the totaliser was revealed for the final time so students were competition in the final round of house competitions unaware of what impact performances and points were having on the overall leader board. Students and staff did know that every single point mattered and each house team put in a real team effort to get their hands on the house trophy.

On Tuesday 20^th July, the day after the final competition (Lip Sync Battle) house teams nervously made their way to the hall for the house champions reveal assembly. You could feel the suspense in the air as students and staff awaited the final results, anxiously waiting to see if the house trophy would have ribbons of their house colours meaning they would be invited to take part in house champions rewards afternoon the following day.

Before the results were revealed students sat back to enjoy a video of the 2020/21 house highlights, a reminder of the all the amazing memories hey have created and fun times they have been part of.

It was time, the big screen turned red as the curtains slowly opened to reveal the 2020/21 house champions. As the curtain fully opened the screen suddenly changed to blue, followed by the blast of blue confetti cannons that created a huge cheer in the hall by all those in Aqua House. They had done it, Aqua were crowned champions and were respectfully applauded by all those in Terra and Caeli house. A valiant effort from all in a year where the House Championship trophy could easily of ended up in the hands of any of the three Heads of House.

We are already looking forward to what next year brings as the House Championship promises to be even bigger and better than this year.
