House Netball Competition
Over 100 students across all year groups took to the hard courts at CRA to go head to head in a week long House Netball Competition. The competition got off to a flying start on the Monday with the year 7s taking each other, where Caeli raced into a lead with a draw and win over Aqua and Terra respectively. Aqua however fought back on the Tuesday and Wednesday to take the lead as the year 8 and year 9 teams secured victories in their round of matches, adding 12 points to their score for the competition.
With 250 house points on offer and each of the house teams still in contention of winning the competition, The competitiveness really went up a level on Thursday as the Year 10s took to the court. It was a fascinating affair as each of the 3 houses came away with a victory each, sharing the points, meaning there was no change to the overall scores. The final day saw year 11s go head to head in another tense round of matches that saw Aqua run out winners again. Despite the wet weather the competition went ahead in the sports hall.
After 15 competitive matches across the week it was Aqua who ran out Netball Champions, securing 125 house points. Terra finished 2nd claiming 75 house points with Caeli in 3rd place taking away 50 house points.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable competition, with over 100 students across the academy representing their house in the first sporting competition since lockdown. Well done everyone.
