House Rounders Competition

Term 5 ended how it started, with a sports competition, this time with 140 students taking to the field to represent Aqua, Caeli and Terra in a wee k long House Rounders competition. The weather during this week wasn’t great causing some disruption to our order of play, meaning the competition go underway with the year 8s. The year 8 teams couldn’t wait to get started, particularly Terra who showcased some great batting and fielding skills throughout to clinch victory in the first set of matches.

Aqua saw off the challenge from Caeli to take 2nd spot after day 1 with Caeli settling for 3rd place. Next up to play was the Year 9's and taking inspiration from their peers in year 8 they also clinched victory after some great play.

Terra looked it a really strong position overall heading into the Year 7 competition, who had been waiting patiently for the days of rain to pass but finally got their time to compete and showed some real talent. It was Caeli House who sealed victory putting some pressure on the year 10s and year 11s once again who were still left to play.

The final day of term saw the Year 11's and Year 10's bring the Rounders house competition to a close with some more great play from both year group. Another victory for Caeli in the Year 11's competition set up a thrilling final round of matches for the year 10s. A win for either Caeli or Terra in the year 10 competition would be enough to take 1st place overall, securing the 125 house points on offer.

It was a really intense match with Terra running out overall winners thanks to a winning rounder in the last 2 remaining balls of the competition, sending team Terra into celebration. Victory meant that Terra claimed the 125 house points, Caeli in 2nd place with 75 house points and Aqua in 3rd with 50 house points.
